Dmitri Alexeev and Tanya Sarkissova (18 February)
Not only is this husband-and-wife partnership one of that relative rarity, a recognised two-piano team, but the Moscow-born Dmitri Alexeev has remained in the music-loving consciousness since his success as first prize winner at the 1975 Leeds Piano Competition. In the concert hall and on disc, his range is vast. His experience across many decades of change is certain to result in a fascinating evening of reminiscence as part of the descendancy of great Russian pianists of the mid-twentieth century. Interviewed by fellow pianist Piers Lane, this is likely to be an occasion as memorable for the music as for the insights offered into a remarkable life.
