Jonathan Groves (1 October)

The Managing Director of Groves Artists, Jonathan Groves received his formative musical training as a chorister at King’s College Cambridge under Sir David Willcocks. He returned to Cambridge as an undergraduate, studying History at Trinity College and serving as President of the Cambridge University Music Club.

He joined the Artist Agent company Ingpen & Williams in 1974 and became a director two years later. At Groves Artists he continues to be responsible for the worldwide management of many of today’s most distinguished artists, including the conductors Sian Edwards, Sir Mark Elder and Andrew Gourlay, and the singers Joan Rodgers, Kathryn Rudge and Roderick Williams. He was a founding board member of the Young Artists Classical Artists Trust and is a Governor of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

In his spare time, he loves reading and swimming off the South Cornwall coast. Among the topics of conversation he will be sharing with his sister Sally will be their father the conductor Sir Charles Groves.
