Timothy Walker (19 September)
Educated at the University of Tasmania (where he gained an honours degree in Arts and a Diploma in Music and Education) and the University of New England (Diploma of Financial Management), Timothy Walker is the Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has occupied a similar role for the World Orchestras company, which was formed to present an international orchestral season at Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Concert Hall. Previous positions have included General Manager of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Executive Officer of the Canberra School of Music. He has also served as Chairman of the Association of British Orchestras and is consultant to numerous arts organisations. Even with such numerous professional commitments, he finds time for bush walking and sailing.
